Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are an essential part of our Inasmuch community. They bring a wealth of knowledge, skill and care for the newcomers we serve. Volunteers help by providing tips for thriving in Canadian culture, helping Claimants pass driving tests, connecting them to employment opportunities and helping them prepare for job interviews.

Here are some other key ways volunteers donate their time and talents:

- driving residents to Vancouver for immigration check ins

- baking for events

- yard work at Inasmuch houses

- helping move residents to next homes

- sorting household donations

- English language tutoring and conversation

Meet an Inasmuch Volunteer

Betty-Ann Ball

My name is Betty-Ann Ball, I’ve been with Inasmuch since April 2025 when The Pantry had its start. Every Wednesday I set out the veggies and other food items for our guests and welcome them. It’s such a blessing to serve in this way, distributing food and sharing in a conversation as we get to know one  another.

In the past I volunteered as a doula, helping young single moms through their pre and post natal time. I stood in many food bank lines with them and I feel if there had been a Pantry like ours that experience would have been much more pleasant .

In my spare time I hang out with my 7 grandchildren, doing school pick up, going to their soccer games or just doing Grandma stuff.

I’m very thankful for the opportunity to serve with Inasmuch and this amazing ministry.
