Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are an essential part of our Inasmuch community. They bring a wealth of knowledge, skill and care for the newcomers we serve. Volunteers help by providing tips for thriving in Canadian culture, helping Claimants pass driving tests, connecting them to employment opportunities and helping them prepare for job interviews.
Here are some other key ways volunteers donate their time and talents:
- driving residents to Vancouver for immigration check ins
- baking for events
- yard work at Inasmuch houses
- helping move residents to next homes
- sorting household donations
- English language tutoring and conversation

Meet an Inasmuch Volunteer
Len & Nancee
Len and Nancee have volunteered with Inasmuch for several years in various capacities. Both of them have taught ESL both in a class setting as well as private tutoring. Len continues tutoring privately. Len has used his photography skills at events as well as taking portrait shots of staff members. He has composed videos and slide shows of the compiled photos. Len helps with moving furniture and driving truck for relocations. Nancee has been involved with decorating for events. Len and Nancee prepare food boxes for residents on a weekly basis.
In his spare time Len likes to play pickleball, which has taken over his prior passion for tennis. Nancee enjoys dabbling in watercolor painting as well as reading. They both love to travel whenever they can.
They are both committed to volunteering to support refugees as they seek to build new lives in Canada. This is a very unique opportunity to show God's love and support as these claimants seek refuge in an unfamiliar environment. They deserve to be loved and to be safe.
