Ride, Walk, Fund raise, and Support Refugee Claimants
Inasmuch Community Society is excited to host the Ride for Refuge on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026. This community fundraising event brings people together to support refugee claimants while enjoying a day of cycling, walking, and making a meaningful impact.
We invite individuals, families, churches, workplaces, and community groups to join us as we launch this exciting event in Abbotsford!
Event Details
Date: Saturday, October 3rd, 2026
Registration opens 10:00AM
Location: The Gathering Church
2285 Clearbrook Road
Abbotsford BC V2T 2X4
Participants can choose from one of the three routes:
- 5km Walk
- 10km Bike Ride
- 20km Bike Ride
Rest stops will be available along each route, and lunch will be provided following the event.
Why Ride for Refuge?
Refugee claimants often arrive in Canada after experiencing significant hardship, uncertainty, and displacement. As they begin rebuilding their lives, they face challenges such as finding housing, accessing services, securing employment, and establishing community connections.
Funds raised through Ride for Refuge will support the work of Inasmuch Community Society, helping refugee claimants access programs, resources, and community support as they settle in the Fraser Valley.
Become a Team Captain
We are currently looking for Team Captains to help make this event a success.
Team captains will recruit friends, family members, coworkers, church members, and community supporters to join their team and raise funds for refugee claimants. Teams will appear on the fundraising leader board, with rankings based on the total amount raised.
Whether you represent a church, workplace, school, sports team, or community groups, becoming a Team Captain is a great way to increase your impact and encourage others to get involved.
Fundraising Goals
- Adults: $150
- Youth: (under 17): $75
Participants who meet their fundraising goal will receive a complimentary Ride for Refuge T-Shirt.
